Q. Does the host hotel for a show offer a discount?
A. Yes the host hotel for each show DOES offer a discounted rate for competitors.
Q. I won the overall in an Open Tier One Level Show. I wanted to confirm that this allows me to enjoy a lifetime bye to enter Open Tier Two Level. As well, does this allow me any qualifications to enter Traditional Tier Two Level?
A. An overall win of an OPEN show DOES qualify you for life to advance to the next Tier Level in the same category as you competed in for your win. For example an overall win of an OPEN Tier One Level Show qualifies you for the OPEN Tier Two Level BC Provincials. You ARE NOT qualified to compete in the TRADITIONAL Tier Two Level.
The TRADITIONAL Stream and OPEN Stream are two different streams. In order to compete in the TRADITIONAL Tier Two Level you would have to compete in the BCABBA TRADITIONAL Tier One Level Western Canadians in Kelowna or the TRADITIONAL Tier One Level Vancity Showdown and place with a top (3) three finish to advance to the TRADITIONAL Tier Two Level. OR win the overall in your category and have qualified for life to the TRADITIONAL Tier Two Level BC Cup.
Q. Is it possible to compete in both TRADITIONAL and OPEN event?
A. Yes it is possible to compete in both TRADITIONAL and OPEN Streams bearing in mind that one cannot qualify you for the other. Meaning if you place top three at an OPEN Tier One Level show you are not qualified to move on to a Tier Two Level TRADITIONAL show and vice versa.
Q. If I turn of age to be in the Masters or Grand Masters class within the YEAR of the name show I want to compete in can I compete as a Master or Grand Master?
A. YES you CAN (But not both). You MUST be of age for your category that YEAR of your named show and be able to provide proof of age.
Q. If I am qualified to advance to the next Tier Level in the Open Division but become a Master prior to the next Tier Level show date can I compete in both categories?
A. No you CANNOT. You MUST qualify at the Tier One Level to in each category to advance to Tier Two Level. As such you must qualify at the Tier Two Level in each category to advance to the Tier Three Level.
Q. Can foreigners compete in the BCABBA?
A. Yes foreigners can compete in the BCABBA provided they are residents of British Columbia.
Q. Does a competitor have to purchase a BCABBA membership and pay additional registration fees for their division?
A. Yes a competitor does have to purchase a BCABBA competitive membership and also pay an additional registration fee for each show the competitor wants to compete in.
Q. Will I receive a membership card after I purchase my BCABBA membership?
A. No you will not receive a membership card. Once you have paid your membership fees give our system 4-7 days to update and you can go to the following link to see your membership number. If you have a competitive membership, when you register for a show and paid your enrollment again give our system 4-7 days to update and you will be able to see the update beside your membership number and name. The link will post the show you are registered for and the class you are competing in.
Q. How far out from a show can I register? Is there a cut-off date to register?
A. As soon as the Show is promoter on our website you will be able to register online. There is a 2 week cut off date to register for a show. If a show is on April 14th the cut off date would be April 1st. Also please keep in mind that you CAN register for your competitive membership and register for a show at the same time on the same form. This is the ONLY way to become a member of the BCABBA, by registering online.
Q. If I enroll to compete in a show and change my mind about competing can I get a full or partial refund?
A. No; or, unless extenuating circumstances (i.e.) death in the family, earthquake, etc…

A. A competitor can compete in both the Open and Masters or Grand Masters Division within one show. A competitor CAN compete in more than one class. For example a competitor can compete in both Bodybuilding AND Physique. Or a competitor CAN compete in both Figure and Bikini.
Note: The promoter is not obligated to ensure competitors in cross over classes are able to get on stage in time – this is up to the competitor involved.
Q. If I compete at OPEN TIER THREE LEVEL SHOW and / or TRADITIONAL TIER THREE LEVEL SHOW and do not place in the top five do I have to re-qualify?

If you compete in OPEN TIER THREE LEVEL SHOW and / or TRADITIONAL TIER THREE LEVEL SHOW and place top five you are qualified to compete in the OPEN TIER THREE LEVEL SHOW and / or TRADITIONAL TIER THREE LEVEL SHOW for the following two years (Athlete loses second year eligibility if athlete completes in first year of eligibility)
. If you DO NOT place in the top five you have to return to the Tier Two Level show and place in the top five in order to return to OPEN TIER THREE LEVEL SHOW and / or TRADITIONAL TIER THREE LEVEL SHOW.
